I got an email from my security team that "SMB Signing" protocol is exists on ALM windows server. Is ALM requires SMB protocol to run the ALM application? If yes, please let us know the instructions as how to enable & maintain this protocol in the ALM/QC windows server.
if not required, I will ask my security team to disable the protocol in the server.

''SMB (signing protocol) request are from the application server requesting for either access to the files in the repository of writing new files to the repository. This is a normal operation that happens when you have the repository in a different server other than the application server.''

Therefore, ALM uses it only if the repository is on a shared drive and not on a local drive. Basically, if the repository is local you can disable, but if the repository is on another machine not.

You will need to determine if your repository is local or on another server on the network.
