Requirement Type fields with template controlled projects

Currently all of our projects are created from a template and are linked to it. We have a request to add some user defined fields to a specific project. However, after adding the fields we are not able to add these fields to the requirement types. This means that the added fields are only visible when selecting requirement type as ‘Undefined’ and for the other requirement types the fields are not visible. How do I select the fields for different requirement types?

Lungri,

When a requirement type is controled by a template, it must be managed in the template. The below options are available for adding the new field to a requirement type:

1) Add a new requirement type in the specific project and you will be able to associate that field to the new requirement type as it will be a ''project level'' requirement type.

2) Remove the requirement type that you are interested in using this field for from the template and apply changes. This will make this requirement type a ''project level'' requirement type for all projects (including the specific project) and therefore you will be able to add the field. This will however mean that this requriement type is managed by each project and the template will have no management of it.

3) Add the field to the template project, then add to the requirement type in the template. Apply the changes. This will mean that the field will be associated with the requirment type of your choice. However, the field will be present in every project that is linked to the template.
