UFT 12.02 and Sprinter 12.20 are compatible on the same machine. They do not always play well together though based on install order. Please read the below:

**Sprinter and Automated Testing Tools**

**Sprinter and UFT (Unified Functional Testing) share a variety of system resources. Before installing Sprinter on a computer on which (UFT) is already installed, consider the following:**

- If you uninstall UFT 12.02 after
installing Sprinter, run the
Sprinter Installation again in
Repair mode.
- Sprinter cannot be run simultaneously on the same computer as UFT if Power Mode is enabled.
- Any changes to the installation of one of these products will affect the other. If you uninstall, modify, or upgrade one product, the other may fail. You will need to repair the installation of the affected product.

As for you run issue, would also suggest that Sprinter be installed with UAC turned off and for a local admin to be the one who does the install.

Also, there is QCCR1J78543, which listed the following:

Customer symptom
when running a manual script which has more than two lookup list user fields and the second field has a value, Sprinter shows an error, ''A Run session cannot be started. HP ALM reported an unspecified error.''

Fixed in Sprinter 12.20 Patch 1

I will mention that a patch 2 is out though for Sprinter 12.20, that is cumulative. So would suggest trying patch 2 and seeing if that offers any assistance.

I would also recommend checking the permissions for your users in ALM. See page 44 of the Sprinter User Guide to see the list of required permissions that ALM/Sprinter users must have in order to create, update, and run tests via Sprinter.

I have installed the sprinter as admin and UAC was turned off. Still the same issue exists. In other VM's also I am seeing the same error, where there is no UFT12.02 installed. Could you help me with other ideas? is there anything i can try for sprinter 12.20 and ALM12 ? if you need log, i can attach the same. I have to resolve this issue asap.
