Sprinter Agent is not responding

When doing a step capture of a new test in Sprinter 12.01, I am getting a pop up message that says the Sprinter Agent is not responding. Sometimes stopping and repeating will get past this, other times it just repeatedly comes up and seriously affects any work.

Do I need to reinstall or made some kind of configuration change? Am I missing some setting? Agent does not seem to have much in the way of settings that I can see in the system tray really when running.

As per the user guide, there are listed 2 workarounds for this issue.

One is as you have seen, try to repeat your action a few times and see if the agent processes and the app moves along. If no go there, the second option is to change the config file and increase the initialize setting to give the agent more time to respond.

Steps for this are as follows:

1. Close Sprinter.
2. Increase the agent's initialization time. Open the Sprinter.exe.config file located in Sprinter's bin folder and locate the entry Initialize:80. Increase its value, for example to Initialize:280.
3. Start Sprinter and repeat the problematic operation (Steps Capture or Run Test startup).
4. If the operation succeeds, open the above Sprinter.exe.config file that you modified earlier. Revert to the original value-Initialize:80.

This issue is coming up a lot lately. The fix suggested by HP and from the read me guide has had mixed results. Its an on going issue of which I have an open ticket with HP for. Will update if find out any definitive information as to a reliable fix.
