SVN integration – poor UFT performance
Question ID: 108133

Our company moved our UFT tests to a Subversion server (using SmartSVN 6.6.11). Now, our UFT tests all seem to be affected by poor performance, running a lot slower than usual. On average, our tests run 3 to 4 times slower. Same issue on our UFT 12.54p4 Windows 7 hosts and UFT 14.02 Windows 10 hosts. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Here's a solution found from the Micro Focus support/community forums:

Create DWORD value

> DisableSVNIcon=1

under registry key:

> HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMercury
> InteractiveQuickTest
> ProfessionalMicTest

This forces UFT to skip SVN checks which is most likely the cause for reduced performance when running and opening tests.

Thanks, adding that to the host's registry definitely made a difference with both opening and running tests on that machine.
