UFT Application sits at ”Validating license…”

This is 1 of 10 VM desktops that the automation team has been using for two years. Recently the application stopped working and now just displays a splash screen with the "Validating license…" message.

After several attempts trying to resolve I just un-installed the application in hopes that a fresh install would clear up the issue. The installer completes with no issue and followed up with a successful patch install (UFT_00143).

Can you let me know of other areas to check?

The problem is most likely a corrupt LicenseSettings.xml file on the client.

On your affected VM client:

1) Locate and *Copy* the following LicenseSettings.xml file:

If 32-bit OS: C:Program FilesHPUnified Functional TestingbinLicenseSettings.xml

If 64-bit OS: C:Program Files (x86)HPUnified Functional TestingbinLicenseSettings.xml

2) *Paste* this file from Step 1 into the following location, overwriting the existing LicenseSettings.xml file that's there:

C:ProgramDataHewlett-PackardUFTLicenseLicenseSettings.xml
