Receiving the following application error – Unable to creating a release based on a template. User must be assigned to the linked template project. Is it true that anyone attempting to use this functionality must be listed as a user assigned to the template? Am I misunderstanding this requirement. I am asking b/c we are striving to utilize "as needed" access…and have a limited number of individuals that are "template admins" Can you share some info on this topic. I have already combed through all the help on this subject and community sites.

I believe that this warning message is because you can only log into or see projects that you have been added to. When you click on ''New Release from Template'' basically logs the user into the attached template project to pull the list of available releases. If that use is not assigned to the template, he/she will not be able to log in. The user does not need to be a template admin for the template. The user can be added to the viewer group within the template so that they are unable to make changes to the template. Adding the user to the template does however cause the project to show up in the list of projects when logging in. Marked as spam
