Upgrading MS-SQL Server 2008 to 2014, any preparation guidelines?

We are upgrading our SQL-Server 2008 to SQL-Server 2014 in preparation for installing/upgrading to QC/ALM12.53.
Are there any guidelines for the database upgrade?

Do we need to do anything special with our existing databases, or do they just upgrade in MS-SQL-server automatically?

You really do not have anything special that needs to be done with respect to upgrading the databases in MS-SQL-server for use with QC/ALM.

If you upgrade-in-place SQL2008 to 2014, the DB's get ''upgraded'' as part of the installation.

If you do backup of the DBs to BAK files (as suggested by HP for QC/ALM), then restore into MSSQL2014, it upgrades them as it restores.
