So we are using the Chrome browser for our tests. When we try to spy on any of the objects in our web application, UFT is only seeing a single object, the Chrome window. How can we get UFT to find the individual objects?

There could be a few different reasons for this.

  • Always make sure to launch UFT PRIOR to launching Chrome.
  • Check the Record>Record and Run Settings. For each tab present, select the Top Radio Button that says "Record and run test on any open...{Java Application, browser, windows application, etc}"
  • Make sure the Chrome extension for UFT is installed and activated, and is the correct version for the version of UFT you are using.

Our problem was the extension was from an old version of Chrome. We uninstalled it and got the correct version installed and now it works.
