We are trying to install ALM in our environment and having time out issues?

Hi,
I am hoping someone can assist but we have been trying to install the latest ALM into our environment (we are using support Windows Server versions and Oracle Support DBs as per the requirements). What is happening is that it hangs when trying to create and update the siteadmin schema on the DB towards the end of the installation. We have verified that the permissions on the siteadmin user schema are correct (were created through the scripts in the installation utility folder as recommended in the installation document pertaining to Oracle), that the user on the server has the correct permissions and admin level to install, all passwords are correct, yet this just continually hangs and then fails. We are seeing the following error in the error statement:
"the installation time out reached (1 hr)"

Any idea as to what we may have missed?

Thanks,
HomerJ

Hello HomerJ,
I have experienced this issue before and I would suggest you have your DBA check on whether the connections are there, being maintained, or exceeding the allowed limits. I would suggest looking into the LOGICAL_READS_PER_SESSION setting as in my prior experiences it was being exceeded (as the default was 100 and the recommendation is to increase it to unlimited). I suggest looking there first.

Hope this helps, but if it is like in my past experiences it is something specific to the DB server instance and nothing related to the application Server.

Hope this helps,
Dan

Thanks for the help. We adjusted that parameter and the installation completed without issue.
