Business Views add-in does not seem to properly uninstall or upgrade to newer version

I am trying to get the HP Business Views Excel add-in to work for ALM 12.21. I uninstalled my 11.52 one from control panel and installed the new add-in. However the tab and login link is the same as the 11.52 and it does not seem changed. It in fact has the saved data of my old 11.52 server address and last project login. I uninstalled and reinstalled the add-in again, but same issue.

Why does excel seem to have the old add-in login screen and values cached?

Hello,

When the add-in is installed, you are given choice of installing for admin user or all users on the machine. Based on your issue, sounds like at one time a prior add-in was installed for non-admin (all users) and then this second time, was for admin rights. Or possibly the reverse scenario of admin first, non-admin second.

If you in Excel go to File > Options > and click on Add-Ins on the left banner, to view the installed add-ins. Look for the HP ALM Business Views Excel Add-in in the list. This will be a COM type add-in. The location will show the path. It will show either C:ProgramDataHPALM-ClientExcelReportAddin or something along the lines of C:Users\AppDataLocalHPALM-ClientExcelReportAddin.

Write down the path you see, close excel, and go to that location in windows explorer. If Appdata one, you must enable hidden folders view for explorer. Make a new folder in the ExcelReportAddin folder, called Backup, and move all the files to it.

Uninstall the add-in with excel closed.

Try the add-in install again. When you make your choice on whom to install for (admin or all users), note the install path during the install. If different, it would likely be the other path mentioned above. Let the install finish and take the contents of the path from the install and replace where the backup folder path is you made above. That should then work. Or can try picking the alternate admin vs all user install for the add-in to change the path. Your choice on how to correct to get the files to the right COM add-in location.

That seemed to be it. The older uninstalled add-in still had a path that was what excel seemed to be ''looking'' at. I just copied over the files installed to the path seen during the install to the path excel showed for the com add--in. And now the add-in works properly. Thank you.

At the point when the include is introduced, you are given decision of introducing for administrator client or all clients on the machine. In view of your issue, sounds like at one time an earlier include was introduced for non-administrator (all clients) and after that this second time, was for administrator rights. Or, on the other hand potentially the turn around situation of administrator to start with, non-administrator second.

In the event that you in Excel go to File > Options > and tap on Add-Ins on the left flag, to see the introduced include ins. Search for the HP ALM Business Views Excel Add in the rundown. This will be a COM sort include. The area will demonstrate the way. It will indicate either C:ProgramDataHPALM-ClientExcelReportAddin or something along the lines of C:Users\AppDataLocalHPALM-ClientExcelReportAddin.

Record the way you see, close exceed expectations, and go to that area in windows adventurer. On the off chance that Appdata one, you should empower concealed envelopes see for wayfarer. Make another organizer in the ExcelReportAddin envelope, called Backup, and move every one of the documents to it.

Uninstall the include with exceed expectations shut.

Attempt the include introduce once more. When you settle on your decision on whom to introduce for (administrator or all clients), take note of the introduce way amid the introduce. On the off chance that distinctive, it would likely be the other way specified previously. Let the introduce complete and take the substance of the way from the introduce and supplant where the reinforcement envelope way is you made above. That ought to then work. [pest control services][1] Or, then again can take a stab at picking the other administrator versus all client introduce for the include to change the way. Your decision on the best way to right to get the documents to the privilege [COM include area.][2]
