AutoPass Mail Configuration error (”Could not convert socket to TLS” in server logs)

I have tried to configure the mail for AutoPass, but it is not working. I am using the correct mail server, port, and my work email address, and still get an error when trying to send a test email. The information works in another application and not here.

I am seeing the following error message in the log file.

ERROR – Jan 19 16:41:34 – [com.hp.autopassj.ls.action.config.LicenseServerMailer : LicenseServerMailer.sendEmail] :: javax.mail.MessagingException: Could not convert socket to TLS;
nested exception is:
javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target

Find your **mailconfig.properties** file which is either located here

%ProgramData%\HP\HP AutoPass License Server\AutoPass License Server\data\conf\

or here

%ProgramData%\autopass\apls\licenseserver\data\conf\

Add an entry called `mail.smtp.ehlo=false` to your mailconfig.properties file, save, then *restart the APLS service*.

Thanks, this solution worked. AutoPass can now send email alerts.
