Can the ActiveX client of QC 10 and 11 coexist on the same computer?

Hi,

I usually connect to a Quality Center 11 server. The QC 11 ActiveX is installed on my PC (which runs Windows XP, btw) and working fine. Now, for some special project, I’m being asked to use another server which runs QC 10. When I try to connect to that server, I get the following error:

Following client components were not downloaded successfully:

1 . OTAClient.dll :
(Error 32) Le processus ne peut pas acceder au fichier car ce fichier est utilise par un autre processus.
Failed to open file for writing

2 . WebClient.dll :
(Error 32) Le processus ne peut pas acceder au fichier car ce fichier est utilise par un autre processus.
Failed to open file for writing

3 . OTAClient.dll :
Cannot load type library

4 . OTAClient.dll :
Cannot register type library

5 . WebClient.dll :
Cannot load type library

6 . WebClient.dll :
Cannot register type library

Close all connections to Server and try again.

I tried the following already:

1. Rebooted and retried.
2. Closed all connections to QC and tried again.
3. Connected with QC Explorer instead of IE.

I’m suspecting this problem is due to the ActiveX clients of QC 10 and 11 being unable to coexist on the same machine. Am I right? If so, is there a workaround? Or is this problem is due to something else that I haven’t though of?

Any help would be appreciated.

I think you are correct, it is probably the active x control. Make sure under temporary internet files it is set to ''Every time I visit the webpage'' that way it checks and updates the active x when you switch back and forth, also view then delete the objects under settings under browsing history.
