We are planning to move HP ALM server to azure cloud. Mostly we will using the same version as its going to be lift and shift approach to cloud. 1. Is the application already designed to operate as a cloud based solution? 2. Is this application’s performance or user experience susceptible to latency? 3. Indicate whether the application’s data is tightly or loosely coupled to the application logic.? 4. Are the current licenses tied to IP address?

Here are the answers to the questions that you have asked. If you need any addition information please let me know. 1. Is the application already designed to operate as a cloud based solution? Though ALM was not specifically designed for the cloud, it is a good candidate since it is a web based solution. The day to day operations can be completed from the web interface however, you will still need, from time to time, to be able to access the QC and SA logs and the file repositories. 2. Is this application's performance or user experience susceptible to latency? Yes, any web based application is susceptible to latency. 3. Indicate whether the application's data is tightly or loosely coupled to the application logic.? The data for ALM is stored on a database server that can be separate from the application server. The application SQL queries to interact with he data. There is also a file repository that can be stored on a separate network location. 4. Are the current licenses tied to IP address? No the licenses are not locked in anyway to the current host. Marked as spam
