Hello,

Is there an easy and quick way to edit all the Dbid.xml files in ALM so when we are moving the repository location we can easily edit them all at once for the new locations and such?

Thanks,

HomerJ

Hello HomerJ,

According to KM02267685 the there is a dbid.xml editing tool.  I have never used it but am including it within.  The tool is use at your own risk and is not supported by Microfocus or their partner and for use as is and at risk as is only.  Here is the verbage from that KM document:

The ALM Modify Dbid utility allows changing individual dbid.xml files or global changes to all dbid.xml files. This allows rapid editing of data in the dbid.xml files and avoids introduction of whitespace; an issue which can make the XML data unreadable.

Be sure to read the documentation here: ALM Modify Dbid Utility.pdf

The utility can be downloaded from here: ALM_Modify_Dbid.zip

The “ALM Modify Dbid Utility” is provided for example purposes only. It is not supported by Micro Focus International plc.
The example software is experimental and is provided as a courtesy, free of charge, “AS-IS” by Micro Focus International plc, (“Micro Focus”). Micro Focus shall have no obligation to maintain or support this software. Micro Focus International plc MAKES NO EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF ANY KIND REGARDING THIS SOFTWARE. Hope this helps,

Dan
