Do we have to upgrade the projects as well on minor patch upgrade

Hello Team,

I wanted to know how the upgrade of projects work, shortly we will be upgrading our ALM instance from 12.60 to 12.60 patch 1, i wanted to know if this patch upgrade also needs project upgrade.
I remember for my older instance i had done similar patch upgrade of older versions and had not upgraded the projects.
in case of minor patch update how will it take care of projects without upgrade? please help.

Hi ALM_24,
As a general rule of thumb, no minor updates require and upgrade of the projects as they are recognized as current for the major version and thus so for the minor version. There may be a few one offs in the past where some major changes were made in what would appear as a minor upgrade by numbering release but those are exceptions and would be noted as such and that the upgrade of projects is required at time of patch application (also if you try to run the upgrade it will do nothing and report that the project is already at the current release level and nothing will happen if you attempt the maintenance procedure).

There is no upgrade required for projects when applying patch 1 to the GA release of ALM12.60, do note that since all patches are now full installers the prior version will be uninstalled and the current/new version installed in its place (thus making it possible o upgrade directly into the latest patch version from a prior/lower version).
