Do we need to install a host server component with ALM 12.xx?

Hello,
We have ion the past installed ALM 11 and when installing it were prompted to install the JBOSS server at such time, or we could elect to install IIS if we wished to use that to host the application. We are getting ready to install ALM 12.53 and don’t see any reference to the JBOSS server in the installation guide.

Do we need to install IIS separately or some other third party host for the application?

Thanks

Hi HomerJ,
With ALM 111.52 and later versions the JBOSS server option was changed to where the system now uses JETTY to host the services. It is still possible to use third parties such as IIS and set them up to hist if you wish, but if you just want to use the default settings and host, then the system will install, configure, and deploy on the JETTY server (just as it prior did using JBOSS) during the installation process. No extra thirs party host is necessary.

Hope this helps and answers your questions.
Dan
