Getting a license error trying to execute UFT tests from ALM

When trying to execute a test in ALM I get the following error: 'You cannot use the current test. A Unified Functional Testing license is needed. Load the license and try again.' The machine has UFT installed and we are able to open and run tests from UFT, just not from ALM. Also, ALM seems to function fine on other machines, so I don't believe it is an issue with ALM licensing.

I have found that most 'license' related error messages that are thrown on the ALM side are caused by the UFT machine's environment variable. Check that there is an **LSFORCEHOST** variable under the **SYSTEM** variables (*Not* **USER** variables) and that it is pointing/set to the license server machine name.

By default, the variables are set per user and this can cause issues when doing things remotely from the ALM side and need to be added as a **SYSTEM** variable and then it is seen 'globally'.
