We are getting a PR_IS_ACTIVE = S result on a project and unable to activate in HP ALM?
Question ID: 105961

We were making a custom copy (customization and defects only) of an existing QC project. During the copy process, an error occurred. I didn’t get a screen capture of the error and the copy created without further issue. When I attempted to re-activate the source project, I am not able to. All options are greyed out, and ! am unable to access this project. What should I be looking for?

Thanks in advance,
HomerJ

Could you check that the PR_IS_ACTIVE flag is set to (should be set to either Y or N, but have seen S once) and what the PR_MAINTENANCE_STATUS is set to (0 - Active, 1-Idle, 2-COrrupted, and above 2 is Under Maintenance)?

These would be checked within the Projects table within the qcsiteadmin schema within the DB itself (may need to involve your DBA is you are unable to gain access to it).

The PR_IS_ACTIVE is set to S and the PR_MAINTENANCE is set to 0.

I hope this helps.

I would recommend changing the PR_IS_ACTIVE flag to 'Y' and then restarting the services on the QC application server. You should then see the project return to active status and be accessible again. SInce you were copying the project, nothing should have been changed/updated within the project DB/schema as a copy only purses the data and creates a new copy of that data and not affects the original project data.

Hope this helps?
