We recently changed our ALM to use HTTPS.

Now, when we try to set the ALM connection from UFT, we get this error:

Failed to update components from server
Failure in Spider Module Process.  Error: Initialization has failed.  Contact your system administrator.

For details, see Loader log file.

Failure details:
Failed to download this file - setup_a.cab

Since you changed the URL of ALM "HTTPS" and likely new port number, AND it appears you have a strict security environment, this may be as simple as adding "trust" for this site in IE to allow downloads, but may require more security settings by your security team.

Basically, it is the same as when you use IE with limited rights to download various ALM components for the first time after ALM install or Patching -- you need to launch IE with "run as administrator", then visit the "client" page (start_a.jsp).

Try using IE on the "client" UFT PC and launch IE with "run as administrator", then make sure you can get to the ALM "qcbin" page and all the ay into the client.

Also, go to the qcbin "Tools" link, then load the follow "Alm Registration" link to load the API files necessary for ALM to work with UFT.

This will be necessary on the PC of each each UFT client user.
