How can I improve QTP PowerBuilder Stability effectively
Question ID: 104513

I have been automating tests for a PowerBuilder application and the stability of QTP has been decreasing steadily. During General Run errors on large tables or while interacting with the application, any action(Stop, Skip, Retry, Debug) causes QTP to freeze itself, the application, or the computer, even though the computer is not using a lot of its resources. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing the patches for Powerbuilder that apply as well as running a repair on QTP. These only work as temporary fixes for a short amount of time before the issues start reoccuring. Are there any other options that I can exhaust for improving stability?

Thanks again,

The current working solution that I have found for this problem is to install the following patch:

QTPPB_00036

This is a recent private patch that came out from HP that works for Powerbuilder 11.5. However, it is also working for my issue even though I'm using Powerbuilder 12.0. I figured that the issue that was causing this problem was not fixed in the later iteration of either the Sybase Powerbuilder or the add-in for QTP. Hope that this helps anyone who finds this.

Cheers.
