how do I change the ”td” user password in QC 10?

we’re using HP Quality Center 10 ("QC")on a Windows 2003 Server. We want to run QC on this machine and run QTP on remote computers with QTP interacting with this QC server. This means we have to add the server to our domain; in order to do that, QC’s "td" user must have a "real" password that meets our domain policies.

I can change the default password for user "td" in the QC admin database easily enough, but that does not change the password that QC tries to use when it logs in. I read in one post on another site that said that there was a QC install step that let you set the "td" user password, but having just re-installed QC I did not see any such step. I found where to set the "sa" password for the database, but that’s not the same.

What is the supported method for defining the "td" user password in QC 10?

You should be able change the password in the siteadmin.xml in the WEB-INF folder of the 20qcbin.war file, in order to use a text password instead of the encrpyted version use ''TXT:'' followed by the password, so for example if I was using tdtdtd, I would put ''TXT:tdtdtd'' for the password
