How do I transfer my actual ALM license to AutoPass License Server?

I understand how to configure ALM to use AutoPass License Server to manage my ALM licenses, but what isn’t quite clear is how I get my actual licenses from ALM to APLS?  The Micro Focus ADM Help instructions just say to install AutoPass License Server and then install my license, but I don’t have a copy of my license file and I don’t see how to get it from ALM?

Good question.  Micro Focus is assuming you already have a copy of your ALM license in-hand when following the instructions for switching over to AutoPass License Server for ALM license management.  If you don't have a copy, either request a license "reprint" from your software license vendor or follow these steps:

  1. Make sure you have NOT switched over to AutoPass License Server yet and are still using the ALM built-in license management.
  2. Follow these steps to export a copy of your license from ALM:

  3. Make sure you have AutoPass License Server installed.
  4. Install the exported copy of your license from step to into AutoPass License Server:  Log in to AutoPass License Server > License Management > Install License > Browse

Worked perfectly! I was able to export a copy of my license from ALM without having to contact support.
