1) Change your ALM built-in license management mechanism to AutoPass License Server following these steps:

{ref. https://admhelp.microfocus.com/alm/en/15.5-15.5.1/online_help/Content/Admin/APLS_licenses.htm)

2) Create a license pool -- Log into AutoPass > Reservation > Pools (License Pool Management) > Create Pool

(ref. https://admhelp.microfocus.com/alm/en/15.5-15.5.1/online_help/Content/Admin/APLS_licenses.htm#mt-item-3)

3) Add ALM project Client Id -- License Pool Management > select pool > in the lower pane, click Client Id > in the Add Client field, enter the exact ALM domain name slash (/) exact project name (no spaces -- e.g. your ALM domain name is DEFAULT and project name is Project1, then Add Client - DEFAULT/Project1

4) Your DOMAIN/Project should now show in Associated Client Ids.

5) Go to AutoPass > Reservation > Feature

6) Select/Click the FEATURE ID for Full Concurrent License (ex. 10138) and click MANAGE (if APLS 11.6.0)

7) Under Feature-Based Reservation, click ASSOCIATE POOL (Dialog appears) > select your license pool from above > ASSOCIATE POOL > Confirm successfull > Close dialog

8) Your license pool based on project is shown under the Selected Feature pane.

9) Click on the pool name to highlight it.

10) Desired behavior:

**You want project users to have a reserved capacity of licenses allocated and STILL be allowed to obtain a license if reserved capacity is full:

Enter the desired RESERVED CAPACITY (e.g. 5) and hit enter, the AVAILABLE CAPACITY will update with the same number. (Make sure the ALLOW/BLOCK button *shows* BLOCK otherwise click ALLOW.)

-Click REFRESH to track in-use and available once users start logging in.

**You want project users to have a restricted reserved capacity of licenses and NOT be allowed to obtain a license if reserved capacity is full:

Enter the desired RESERVED CAPACITY (e.g. 3) and hit enter > click REFRESH > Enable/Check RESTRICT (if the box does not appear to enable/check, click REFRESH) > Confirm RESTRICT is checked/enabled

-Click REFRESH to track in-use and available once users start logging in.
