The input mask feature is used to prompt users to enter certain characters when entering data. If a user enters the incorrect value, they will receive an error message indicating so.

To set up the input mask, access Project Customization and click 'Project Entities' in the left menu. You can access the Input Mask feature within the Project Entities page. Once in Project Entities page, you can select a System field, or create a new field if needed. After you select a field or create a new one, you will see the attributes for the selected field displayed in the 'Settings' tab. You will find the 'Masked' checkbox located below the 'History' checkbox. Note: The 'Masked' checkbox is only enabled when the field type is 'String'. To define a mask, click the 'Masked' checkbox, and the 'Masked edit Attributes' will be displayed below. In the 'Masked edit Attributes' section, you can either enter a mask manually into the 'Input mask' field, or select a pre-defined field from the 'Input Mask Editor' dialog. To access the 'Input Mask Editor' dialog, click the 'Define...' button. After you have defined a mask for the selected field, click the 'Save' button to save the changes to the 'Project Entities' page. Click the 'Return' button, then select the type of change desired and click 'OK'.
