Ravi,
You need to be more specific in your request. If your company DNS is working and configured correctly, both should work and be usable by your users for accessing the ALM server since they will be resolving to the same IP address whether using the IP address directly or the server name/URL assigned??

Ravi,

Unfortunately that list of IP addresses or any DNS entries are not stored within the ALM DB to reference too. In order to be able to have that connection name resolve to an IP address it would have to have a list of hostnames to resolve against. That is what your DNS table does, and unfortunately no table is maintained within ALM nor is there a connection to the DNS server to query the host name and resolve to the IP address. This functionality just is not there.

The best I can off you is to contact your support provider for ALM and ask that a Enhancement Request be submitted to add such functionality in a future release version or patch, as currently this functionality does not exist within the ALM functionality.

Hope this helps,
Dan

Thank you for reply !!!

Sorry for not being specific in my question, let me explain in detail.

When we login to ALM Site admin --> Site Connections tab we have list of users who are logged in to ALM there we have column called ''HOST'' i want to change this field to display IP address of user machines instead of host names.

Thanks
Ravi
