How to grab what was printed to put back in code

I currently have code to choose a date on a calendar pop up window and that places the actual date in the form of mm/dd/yyyy in a webEdit field. I then print that result to the output pane. I am now trying to bring that date back into my code in order to compare it to a piece of code that figures out what date was chosen. just as a way to make sure what is shown is what is supposed to be showing. Im assuming its simple but haven’t had much time to look into it yet.

If you are talking about the output log when you use the Print command in UFT GUI code. That is written to the %temp%/output.txt when I used it with QTP.
