I’m just dying to use Windows 8… will it work with ALM11 for the IE Client?

When I go to the QC11 URL from my IE in Windows 8 I see the usual ALM "menu" page "\\qcbin" and can also get to the "qcbin\\About.htm" to see that I have Patch 10, but when I click on the "Application Lifecycle Management" link, it gives me this error:

Microsoft Internet Explorer : 5.0 (compatible; MSIE 10.0; Windows NT 6.2; WOW64; Trident/6.0; .NET4.0E; .NET4.0C) is not supported!
Only Internet Explorer 7 and Internet Explorer 8 are supported.

Funny, it looks like the error is for IE being too old?
This is IE10, not IE5.

Windows 8 (which is not officially supported for QC/ALM11), comes with Internet Explorer 10 (IE10), which is also not officially supported yet - as of Patch 10. HP should eventually add ''official'' support via a later patch after they confirm it works correctly.

If you are able to get it to work and it is unsupported, HP will not help you if something does not work correctly.

WARNING: You could have unexpected behavior - AND - HP does not support use of Windows 8 and IE10 officially yet.

For EVALUATION sake, you could try to enable IE's Compatibility View for Intranet (sites on your same subnet), it will work basically the same as IE9 load for windows 7.

When you go to the ''Application Lifecycle Management'' link, it will ask to install .Net 3.5 SP1 (dotnetfx35.exe) and MS Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributible (vcredist_x86.exe - Since QC11 is a 32-bit application, you must use the x86 version).
