Initialization Failure

User cannot log into QC, as initialization fails. Previous clients have been uninstalled, the ALM uninstaller was applied to fully clean the system multiple times, and the client will still not install it. Rebooting after the ALM uninstaller was run didn’t help either. We have also added the ALM URL to the trusted Sites list.

UAC is User Access Control and what you need to try is the following:
Disable User Account Control (UAC) to ''Off''-option - to ''never notify''![alt text][1]

If turning off UAC also does not work, the best way around this problem is to bypass Internet Explorer(IE) altogether. This can be done by downloading the ALM Explorer Add-in from the ALM Add-ins page.
Access this from the Tools link of the ALM Server:
http://{almserver}:8080/qcbin/addins.html
From here, click More HP ALM Add-ins
click Utility Add-ins
click HP ALM Explorer
Download the proper version for your level of ALM.
Follow instructions for accessing ALM.
