Hello,
I am having an issue where when I am trying to add users through either the SIte Admin or the Project Customization scree, I am getting an error that says the "Objects are locked by:" and then my user ID. I do not have anything locked and am unsure why this is happening. Do you have an solutions/ suggestions to fix this error?

HI HomerJ,
I have seen this before where the user(s) has an active session in the SIte Connections section of Site Admin where is was a remnant from a prior disconnect of the user within the system (such as due in part to an Internet Explorer crash or errant log out). I would perform the following to insure that everything is cleaned up within the client system:

1) Kill all ALM/QC client processes
2) Kill errant IE processes that may be running in the back ground to resolve the crashing of the ie browsers (would be listed in Task Manager under active processes)
3) Delet the TD_80 folder (Will be recreated on the next client connection)
4) Verifiy that all ie and client processes remained gone
5) Reconnect to the server so TD_80 folder is recreated
6) Make sure that errant dead connections for the user were disconnected within the Site Connections tab within SIte Admin (if they exist, then select and disconnect them using the disconnect option at the top if the screen).
7) Test to make sure that all is working correctly.

The above would apply if this is happening for a user on only one system. If the error is occurring for the same user on multiple systems, then you may try deleting the user account within site admin and recreating the account.

Hope this helps,
Dan

Thanks for the suggestions. It was for one user on one client system and the above worked correctly to rectify the error. Thanks for the assistance.

Hi,

If you can access the siteadmin, then you may use this query :
Delete from LOCKS where LK_USER = ***Your_UserID***

Thanks for the suggestion and viable solution for future use, but as I stated I had nothing locked (i guess I should have been clearer and stated that I had already checked and the lock table was empty already). Hopefully this trick will help others though.
