Have a user who when trying to kick off automated tests from ALM gets message "Execute GUI Test Failed" comes up. Other users have no issue running the same tests from ALM. And this one user has issue with any automated test.

We have already removed and added back the user to the project and I believe the client for ALM was reinstalled.

Do we need to remove and reinstall UFT at this point?

Hello,

Possible UFT could require a repair or reinstall but let us first try out the below steps to see if they correct the issue.

As per KM00559449, please try all of the following steps:

1. Close ALM client and QTP/UFT

2. Uninstall the ALM components using the 'Uninstall utility for QC/ALM Client and select full cleanup

3. Open the ALM Tools/Add-ins page and install the 'HP Quality Center Connectivity add-in' and then register the 'ALM Client' (HP ALM Registration)

4. Delete the folder %TEMP%TD_80

5. Try again to run a QTP/UFT test from ALM

That seemed to work. Testing more now but so far so good.
