My professional advise is to wait a few more patches before even thinking about it. Thank goodness we have a sandbox / test VM environment to test upgrades and patches. We decided to install Patch 1 to address some of the initial issues. By the way Patch 1 had 67 Pages of defects addressed. Anyway Patch 1 crashed our server several times. We have decided to hold until patch 3 or 4 before we try again. Honestly, it is no different than the decision to upgrade from XP to Windows 7. We just cannot afford to be on the "bleeding" edge. So we will wait.

Same for us, we are waiting for at least patch 4 so we can benefit from other customers feedback to HP to shake out the bugs.

IF you recall, QCv10 didn't stabilize until around Patch 12. We will begin our evaluation in the test environment around Patch 3 or 4 but probablly not roll into produciton until later.

I would agree with the consensus of the above postings. I will not be rolling out production ALM/QCv11 until the product matures abit over the next few patches. Which patch, I am not sure, that will be determined by the results of our evaluation efforts in the Test environment.

Honestly, there is no big hurry since QCv10 is very stable now.

Rohit - I was looking for potential upgrade issues from QC version 10 to 11, and what others were saying about the process. I unfortunately have run into some performance and crashing issues.

Have you ever heard of this program called ''TestComplete''? I found an alternative to QC, when I did a Google search, I found this information at: http://breakfreefromhp.com/ - I wanted to share this. I completed a trial of TestComplete and I think I am enjoying this testing tool more.

Have you solved your upgrade issues?

Happy New Years!

We used a clean ALM 11 patch 02 install on a different server, imported the existing project, then upgraded the project (make sure that all items are checked in before saving the backup from QC 10).
