QC Error occurs when updating defect status: ”You do not have the required permissions to execute this action”

Our users are receiving the following error message when updating the Defect Status field:
"You do not have the required permissions to execute this action."

We are using QC v11 Patch 9.

Please help. Any ideas?

This is a known issue.

Workaround fix described in the KB article is to create/update the Defect Status Transition Rules to allow. If you do not have any Transition Rules defined create a rule with $ANY to $ANY for the defect status.
