QC/ALM Can’t install extensions (Extension Deployment Wizard fails)

I’m having trouble installing either the ALI or STM extensions on QC11. When I run the Extension Deployment Wizard, select my extensions, and try to run the deployment, I get a "Failed to deploy extensions due to a file handling error." Any ideas?

I'm thinking you may not have proper permissions to run the Extension Deployment Tool and it's failing when trying to write the extension files to your deployment folder and restart the service. Try this: instead of running the Extension Deployment Tool from your HP ALM Platform Windows program group, run the corresponding start_deploy.bat from an elevated command prompt (cmd.exe -> Run as Administrator).
