Test Script tab not appearing in ALM for UFT12 machine

We have two machines that are having issues with the ALM Test Script tab after installation of UFT 12.01. Usually, we see the automation script in this tab, but now we only see the message "ALM cannot display the test steps because the relevant UFT or QuickTest add-in is not installed. You can download the relevant UFT or QuickTest add-in from the ALM Add-ins page."

In the past, with UFT 11.5x, this has been a simple fix. Simply download and install the needed add-in from the add-ins page. For UFT 12.01, the add-in is part of the installation process, so attempting to install from the add-ins page gives an error "UFT is installed on this computer. You can install the UFT Add-in for ALM as part of the UFT installation…"

We have successfully installed UFT 12.01 on several VM’s, desktops, and laptops. These are the only two machines having issues. We had another machine with the same issue, but after performing a more thorough cleanup of the file system and registry, the UFT 12.01 installation was successful, and the Test Script tab was populated as expected.

The file system and registry on these two machines have been through the same cleanup process, but they continue to get the message in the Test Script tab. We are not sure at this point what makes them different from the others.

ALM Version is 11.52, Patch 2.

New to UFT v12.x is the Plugin for ALM being included with the initial installation rather than being a separate download/install (when UFT is installed on the machine). Enable by running a 'Change' on the installation:

Windows > Control Panel > Programs and Features > Select 'HP Unified Functional Testing' > Change > Next > Change > Make sure 'ALM Plugin' Will be installed on local hard drive > Next > Change
