UFT/QTP How to temporarily disable UFT License server

We have a need to temporarily prevent any UFT scripts from running. We have an automated process that uses a scheduler on a separate machine to automatically run some UFT scripts. We do not have access to the computer that will execute some scripts so we need to temporarily disable the UFT 12.02 license on the License Server. I located the lservrc file and moved to a different location (i.e. the D: drive) on the license server and UFT is still finding the license. We need to temporarily make the license unavailable to UFT so the scheduled business process will not run. We will then re-enable it afterwards. How can we do this?

If I'm understanding correctly, you do not have access to the UFT client machine to either turn it off or remove the license server information, correct?

If no other UFT client machines need to use the license server, then you can simply stop the Sentinel RMS License Manager service on the license server machine. Start it back up whenever you want the license server service to resume operation.

As an alternative solution, you can set up a reservation file to restrict access to certain users/computers. Full instructions here:

The suggested solution stop the Sentinel RMS License Manager service on the license server machine works. Nice job!
