We are currently using ALM 12.01, and would like to hide the ‘Lab Management’ link that is displayed on the ALM qcbin page. Is this possible? Thank you!

Be forewarned that since the 20qcbin.war gets recompiled with each new patch level, this edit may be broken by future releases and need to be reapplied.

Hello @miraclefren2 - In order to hide the Lab Management, Performance Center, and Performance Center Administration links from the qcbin page, you will need to locate and edit the index.jsp file in the following locations:

C:ProgramDataHPALMwebappsqcbin

C:Program FilesHPEALMALMapplication20qcbin.war

In both files, you will need to comment out the following lines as listed below:

After you have edited both files and saved the changes, restart the ALM service to implement the changes. After the service has started, open an instance of IE and connect to the ALM server. Verify that the links are no longer displayed on the qcbin page.

Hi,

I have a way to remove the 'Lab Management' link from the qcbin page. It will require you to locate and edit the index.jsp file in the following locations. Make sure to back up the originals before you make any changes.
C:Program FilesHPALMapplication20qcbin.war ----- ALM 12.01 file path
C:ProgramDataHPALMwebappsqcbin ----- ALM 12.01 file path

Open the index.jsp file using an application such as Notepad++ (the one I used for this), scroll to the bottom of the page, and you will see the li, a href=''href'' tags for the links that are displayed on the qcbin page. The ALM Desktop Client, ALM Web Client, My Performance Center, Site Administration, Tools and Readme links are displayed where they are easy to locate. I commented out the following line, which removed the Lab Management link from the qcbin page. Example below:

I hope this helps!

Hi James,
If I wan to hide Lab management and Performance center from ALM 12.55 do I follow the same step, meaning do i comment the above shown line/s?

I had did the same for other version of ALM and also in ALM 12.55 and worked as expected. But today i installed new patch in ALM 12.55 and tried to follow the same step to hide Lab Management and Performance center, its not working. I'm confused.
