**Basic outline for installing the Shunra 8.61 patch 3**

- Back up your system before installing a patch. (always a good thing to do)
- Verify that you have full local administrative permissions to install the patch on the machine.
- Before starting the installation, stop all NV tests.
- Unzip the file
- The installation process requires you to uninstall all NV components and then reinstall the components included in patch 3, as described below:

**Performance Center**

- On the HP Performance Center Server: reinstall the Shunra NV for HP Performance Center component.
- On each HP Performance Center Host: reinstall the Shunra NV for HP Controller component.
- On each HP Load Generator: reinstall the Shunra NV for HP Load Generator (reboot required).

**LoadRunner**

- On each HP LoadRunner Controller: reinstall the Shunra NV for HP Controller component.
- On each HP Load Generator: reinstall the Shunra NV for HP Load Generator (reboot required).
- Optional: Install NV Predictor on the LR Controller system.

**Note:** It is recommended to deploy all of the above mentioned components. It is possible to deploy only the Shunra NV for HP Load Generator component, although not all of the defects listed in the Fixed Defects section will be addressed.
