Workflow via the Script Generator – List Customization Question

When customizing the Defect Module, I encountered an error performing the following steps:

  1. Added a new Product in the existing Product List and saved the new entry.
  2. Chose to modify the Workflow via the Script Generator – List Customization for Defects Module
  3. On an existing rule, clicked the Product (defined as the Primary value) in the top "Primary/Secondary Rule" window
  4. In the "List Match Rule" window, scrolled down to locate the new Product and it was not listed. In order to see the new Product I added in step 1 above, I had to delete the previously defined rule and recreate it from scratch.

Is this a defect?

I went back and researched the Script Generator - List Customization for Defects Module all the way back to version 8.2 including Manuals, Training Materials, Patches and Internal and External HP resources.

A1 What I found is that the Script Generator - List Customization for Defects Module Wizard updates the list primary field values only once when the Primary Rule list is selected.

From that point forward, the new primary field item with it's corresponding list have to be added manually.

So are you saying that if you build a rule with a list and then add a new item to that list, you will have to delete the rule and recreate it so that it will bring in the new list item?

In summary, when a new item is added to a Project List, the new item must also be added to the List Match Rules. No need to delete and rebuild the entire List Match Rule section. To add the new list item to the List Match rule section, just click the [ENTER VALUE] link and enter the item there. Next, click the [SELECT LIST] and select the appropriate list. Items that you entered manually are in blue, while auto generated items are in red.
