Any guidance about why we should plan many smaller vs. one large project in QC/ALM?

We are planing our ALM server (we actually have the ALM licence instead of Enterprise) and the question came up about creating a "growing" project that will contain "everything" vs breaking it down into many smaller projects.

normally we recommend trying to keep projects relatively ''small'' Less than 3GB (repository + DB).

Large projects are a potential trouble because:

1) It takes much effort/time to backup, restore, migrate, upgrade, move, etc.

2) all of your ''eggs'' are in one possibly fragile basket - if something goes wrong in the project, you lose big

3) Larger ''data'' disk is required

4) If you wanted to, you cannot use the project Export/Import feature with projects over 3Gb
