Best way to rank my sales associates into tiers?

As the title suggests, I just want a good way to assign tiers to my salespeople. Just “good” “average” and “Below average”. The problem is I don’t want these based on constant numbers, I want it to be seperated into 3 equal categories. I have 57 people to keep track of so it should be 19 people ranked at each tier every month. What’s the most robust way of going about this?

Alteryx actually provides a pretty easy way to do this via the multi field binning tool. Set it to equal records by sales, split things into 3 bins and it should do basically all the work for you. If for some reason you don't want perfectly equal bins, your other option would be to sort by sales, split the workflow into parts and then use the sample tool with some combination of "first N rows" and "last N rows" to split the data into the bins you want. Then combine it all back together with the Append tool. This is a bit more of a pain, so it's nice that there is a single tool to handle tasks like this.
