We are currently using LoadRunner 12.01.

I want to test an Citrix virtual desktop infrastructure use case, is it possible using LoadRunner? If yes, how ?

Any help or thoughts would be great.

Yes, Citrix can be tested with LoadRunner.

I highly recommend upgrading LoadRunner to version 2020 SP1.  There are many advantages to upgrading.  For LoadRunner 2020 SP1, Micro Focus states:  " The Citrix ICA protocol now supports record and replay with the Citrix Workspace client in LoadRunner Professional 2020 SP1.  The recommended version of Citrix Workspace is 1912; however, you can review the following link for more information about the versions supported: https://admhelp.microfocus.com/documents/lr/2020.1/LR_Protocols.pdf". This capability is not available with your current version.

Before testing Citrix in your environment, review how to set up your Citrix environment for creating scripts with LoadRunner from the link below:

This link not only reviews how to setup a Citrix environment for scripting; but, includes the other following topics:

○ Citrix Protocol - Overview

○ Citrix recording tips

○ Citrix Synchronization

○ Citrix Replay Tips

○ Citrix Debugging Tips

○ Citrix - troubleshooting and known issues

Reviewing all the topics above will ensure that your Citrix testing efforts are successful.  Hope this helps
