Browsers that support ALM client?

Hello,

We are wondering about the various browsers support within ALM.  Can Quality Center Enterprise 12.5 patch 1 run on any browsers other than mMicrosoft IE?  Will others be available in future version releases of ALM? Will Sprinter, Add-Ins, etc. also work in other browsers than IE as well?

Thanks,

HomerJ

Hi HomerJ,

Here are the supported browsers from the official supported environments page:

"

Microsoft Internet Explorer 10 32 Bit
Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 32 Bit
Microsoft Edge (version 77 and later)   Supported with IE mode enabled only. For the instructions and known limitations, please refer to KM03638120.

NOTE:
§  For customers who have restrictions on plugins in their browsers, such as ActiveX, Micro Focus ALM/QC can be loaded in the Micro Focus ALM Explorer Add-In. For more information on downloading and installing the Add-In, refer to the Micro Focus Application Lifecycle Management Installation Guide

"
As you can see the IE and Edge (version 77 and later only) browsers are supported as is the Explorer and Client add-ins (however those aren't browsers technically).  Otherwise other browsers aren't fully supported because of the need for Active X components that Microsoft wont license to other developers so they are lacking in other browsers.

You can find all the latest supported environments at this location that is maintained bu Microfocus:

https://admhelp.microfocus.com/documents/alm/alm-system-requirements/alm-qc-system-requirements.htm#ALM1500

Hope this helps,

Dan
