Hello. I am trying to install the Excel add in on my machine, but I keep receiving the following error message after installing the add in.

The error message that displays:

Installing Office customization
There was an error during installation
From: file:///C:/Program Files/Hewlett Packard Enterprise/Addins/ExcelAddIn.vsto
Exception reading manifest from file:///C:/Program%20Files/Hewlett%20Packard%20Enterprise/Addins/ExcelAddIn.vsto: the manifest may not be valid or the file could not be opened.

We are currently using ALM 12.55 with MS Office 2010 SP2 (32-bit), and I have tried the following on my machine in an attempt to resolve the issue. I have tried repairing both the .net and MS Office. I have also reinstalled the Addin using both 'For All Users' and 'For Current User Only', but the issue still occurs.

I have seen an issue like this in the past, and it was resolved by installing the 2010 Microsoft Runtime Tools on the affected machine. I would like for you to give it a try, to see if it resolves the issue you are experiencing...

Before you follow the steps below, please be sure to uninstall any previous version of the add-in that may be installed...

Visit the following URL and Download / Install the 2010 Microsoft Runtime Tools.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48217

After you have completed the installation, please try to install the Excel Add-In once again. I hope this helps.

Your suggestion worked. I was able to install and connect to ALM server from the Addin without installing or registering client. Thank you for your help!
