Excel freezes when attempting to access QC add-in

As the title states, when I attempt to open the Excel add-in to export to Quality Center, excel locks up and only thing I can do at this point is to force close the program.

I have tried uninstalling and re-installing the add-in but same results.

The add-in is pulled from our server, and is working for other users, so I know the file is okay. This is on QC10 if that matters.

What version of Office is being utilized? Is it MS Office 2010?

I ask given you state QC10 and the issue sounds like you might now have support for MS Office 2010.

Please find out what patch level your Quality Center server is running at. Patch 23 or higher is required for QC10 in order to support MS Office 2010.

It is Office 2010. How do I easily determine my patch level?

You can either log into a project and click on Help and select About HP QC at the bottom, and then select Additional Information from button on the pop up windows. Or you can just add /About.htm to the end your QC server URL, just after the qcbin.

I was on a very low patch. That is likely the issue. I will try to see if we can patch up our QC server. In the meantime I will try to find an older version of Excel for the meantime. Thanks.
