”javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed:” error in ALM after upgrade?

Hello,
I am receiving the above specified error (javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed:") within our ALM 12.60 instance after the upgrade from a prior ALM 11.52 instance. Is there a recommended fix for this issue or is this a known issue. Our prior version is still working correctly on the old version still.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated,
HomerJ

Hi HomerJ,
I found reference to a similar error in the knowledge base and the resolution was to make sure the certificate is on the server in the keystore and the configuration for the LDAP server is set up correctly. I am including the sections from the admin guide on where to import the certificate on the server and the procedure. After that it may be necessary to re-enter the LDAP information as since ALM 12.2x they have reprogrammed the backend to allow for multiple LDAP servers (prior only one LDAP server was allowed so this has caused tags and storage locations to change and thus after upgrade the settings not to be retained and displayed correctly). This should resolve the issue as per the Microfocus KM document.

Hope this helps.
