MF ALM using a database hosted on AWS RDS

Would it be possible to set an ALM environment in which the dababase is hosted using Amazon RDS? My current company is trying to save some cost for an ALM upgrade and hosting perspective and we see it is supported but there are not a lot of details on how to perform this activity and what considerations to have in mind. Any help will be highly appreciated!
