We recently discovered 3 of our Android devices were damaged due to overheating batteries. We had this problem last year and we’ve since made sure to keep the area near the fans clear to allow for circulation and have followed the general guidelines (brightness level), but the problem seems to continue.

GoDawgs,

Unfortunately, battery bloat is a factor in live device testing.
It's not uncommon for a battery to experience this in only a single year of service.
In many cases, getting 2 years out of a battery is a pretty good run.
It sounds like you've been following the recommendations on device care, but even so, battery bloat can still occur.
For the devices that have removable batteries, replacement is pretty simple and cost effective.
For the devices (Apple and some more recent Androids) which don't allow for easy replacement there is a chance of a warranty repair depending on age.
