Question regarding licensing and package creation for UFT

Our IT people are creating a package for our UFT 14.01 upgrade. They have a question about the licensing set-up with this package. Below is what they are asking about:

———————————————————————————————
In the previous version the licenses were set to Seat license and set by the users with manual configuration .
I guess this will be the case in this version as well. Users have a shortcut for setup licensing, name: Functional Testing License Wizard

Options we have
1. Seat license – no additional package modification required
2. Concurrent licensing with server back end – need to decide if settings can be implemented in the package or manual setup required as per seat license
———————————————————————————————

Can you assist us by letting us know what the best practice is for this? Do we have the package set up UFT to ask for a seat license, or is there a way to configure it so that it requires the concurrent license every time UFT is opened. I am not sure how to answer our IT person’s query.

In addition to the method you described using the front-end Functional Testing License Wizard, you may instead set the concurrent license via a command line for each client. See this link for directions:

(scroll down to the section ''Install concurrent licenses with the command line'')

That's exactly what we're looking for. Thanks!
