Unable to install ALM 15.5.1using Windows Authentication.

Hello,

I am having an issue installing ALM 15.5.1 during our upgrade when using Windows Authentication for the MS SQL 2014 DB  instance.

In the ALM deployment logs the following error exists for this issue…

com.hp.alm.platform.exception.CTdException: Failed to fetch repository path from old SA schema <site_admin_schema_name>

How can we get around this issue was the permissions are all correct and the system is using the same accounts as it was prior? Is there a workaround?

Thanks,

HomerJ

Hello Homerj,

This is caused by a bug in the ALM 15.5.1 deployment mechanism.  It is a known issue that is addressed in knowledge document KM03812520

You will need to obtain this through the Microfocus support portal or your ALM support partner/group that has access to the portal.

Download the hotfix

Unzip the hotfix to expose the file: alm-install.jar

During ALM deployment, on the last panel when the installation is completed but before clicking the "Next" button to deploy, copy "alm-install.jar" and replace the existing "alm-install.jar" in the following typical paths...

This will resolve your issue with the ALM 15.5.1 installation when using Windows Authentication.

Hope this helps,

Dan
